The goal of this STEM Foundation program is to provide prospective UMT pre-graduate students with sufficient knowledge and skills in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) to enter STEM-based programs at UMT.
Application for admission to the STEM Foundation Program for recruitment every year is through UPU Online which is open to SPM students (STEM 1, STEM & Non-Science).

CONGRATULATION TO UMT CONTINGENT FOR THE 4th PLACE IN THE SAM 25 WITH THE MEDAL ACHIEVEMENT OF 4 GOLD, 1 SILVER & 1 BRONZE
9 February 2025 – SAM2025 closing ceremony was done at Kompleks Sukan Tengku Muhammad Ismail UMT Stadium and was officiated by UMT Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohd Zamri Ibrahim. All 15 contigens participated in the parade in front of the stage. Pusat Asasi STEM has managed to improve the medal tally to 3 Gold, 1 Silver and 5 Bronze thus finishing at the 4th place.

(SAM 2025)
1. Open to all contingents of the Sukan Asasi Malaysia (SAM) 2025.
2. Each contingent is allowed to bring suitable equipment to be used during the parade.
3.Each contingent is given 1 minute to perform in front of the stadium stage.
4. The three (3) contingents with the highest scores for the parade session will receive the “Best Contingent Parade” prize.

January 7, 2025 – “Kick-Off Session RoboCode Project” This session was held to celebrate the collaboration between Yayasan TM and Pusat Asasi STEM for the RoboCode Project: Build & Code the Robot for Special Needs Student.
Yayasan TM has provided the funding (RM136,900) through the Social Impact Grant 2024 while the STEM Foundation, UMT will be the in charge of this project.
This project focuses on fun learning activities to encourage Problem Based Learning (PBL) for Special Needs Students. Hopefully this project will be successful & give positive impact.
RoboCode is a project focusing on the Special Need Students (SNS) with the target group for 30 students from 9 schools Sekolah Pendidikan Khas (Pendengaran) with total number of 270 students to join this project.
At the same time, 18 teachers (2 teachers from each school) may gain experience to continue this programme for the future SNS.
This project consists of 3 phases which are :
1) Site visit to 9 schools
2) Robotic workshop
3) Robotic competition that will be held in UMT.

Tahniah kepada Saudara Adam Ramdzan Bin Razali, pelajar Asasi STEM – UMT yang berjaya dinobatkan sebagai Juara Kebangsaan U23 dalam Kejohanan Berbasikal Jalanraya Remaja Kebangsaan 2024 di Kuala Kubu Selangor pada 8 & 9 Mac 2024.
Saudara Adam juga merupakan atlet berbasikal SUKMA dan mewakili negeri Terengganu di kejohanan yang dianjurkan oleh Persekutuan Kebangsaan Berbasikal Malaysia dengan kerjasama Majlis Sukan Negara.
[PERTANDINGAN DEBAT INTER-ASASI 2024]
Pusat Asasi STEM, UMT dengan kerjasama Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) sebagai penaja utama akan menganjurkan Pertandingan Debat Antara Asasi Universiti Awam (PeDAA) yang merupakan program tahunan peringkat Kebangsaan anjuran Majlis Dekan/Pengarah Pusat Asasi Universiti Awam. Penganjuran program pada kali ini akan melibatkan kerjasama dari Kelab Debat Mahasiswa Intelektual (DeMI), UMT.
